Privacy

This notice explains what personal data DealJale keeps, why, and what you can do about it, as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 asks. By signing in you agree to us using your data as described here.

What we collect

  • Your email address, to send sign-in codes. We don't use passwords.
  • Your display name and home city, if you set them.
  • The banks, card types and UPI apps you choose under "Your cards", to show your best bank offer. Never card numbers.
  • Price alerts you set, and whether you want the weekly email.
  • What you post, vote and comment, so the site can show it.
  • Photos you add to a deal. We remove hidden details such as where a photo was taken before saving it.
  • Basic device and network details, to keep the site secure and stop abuse.

Why we use it

  • To sign you in and keep your account safe.
  • To show your posts, votes and comments, and to moderate them.
  • To send the emails you asked for: sign-in codes, price alerts and the weekly digest.

Who else sees it

  • The site runs on Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, which stores the data and sends our emails for us.
  • When you open a store link, the store (for example Amazon, or Flipkart through Cuelinks) sees your visit as it would any other, and may pay us a commission. We don't send them your email or account details.
  • If the site shows ads, the ad network may set its own cookies to show and count them.

Cookies

We use a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in and a cookie that remembers your city. We don't use tracking cookies of our own.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data until you delete your account. Security logs are kept only as long as needed to stop abuse.

What we don't do

  • We never sell your personal data.
  • We never show your email address to other members.

Your choices

On your account page you can, at any time:

  • correct your display name and home city;
  • download a copy of everything we keep about you;
  • see the devices you're signed in on and sign any of them out;
  • delete your account. This removes your email, votes, devices and anything not yet published. Deals you published stay up as by "deleted member", and the text of your published comments is removed.

For anything else, or if you can't sign in, email Team at DealJale at dealjale@gmail.com (see the grievance page). DealJale will respond within the time the law requires. You can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
